About Us
A garden tells stories.
Every great garden starts with a story, and ours begins under a Brazilian sky.
Picture a quiet backyard in the hills outside a small town — the kind of place where the moon hangs low and silver over rows of herbs, hand-painted pots, and vines climbing wooden trellises built by hand. That backyard belonged to our founder's grandmother, a woman who believed a home wasn't truly a home until it had something green growing in it, and something beautiful to hold that green.
She called her garden o cantinho da lua — "the little corner of the moon" — because she swore the plants grew best under its glow. It was equal parts superstition and love, and it stuck. Decades later, when it came time to name a company built on that same idea, there was only one name that felt right: Lua Prateada, the Silver Moon.
We started Silver Moon Company because we missed something.
Moving between Brazil and the United States, we noticed how different "home" could feel from one country to the next — the textures, the colors, the way light hits a terracotta pot at sunset. American homes have incredible bones, but we found ourselves craving the warmth, the handcraft, and the unpretentious beauty of Brazilian design: sun-baked clay, woven natural fibers, bold botanical patterns, and furniture that looks like someone's hands actually made it.
So we decided to bring it here.
What We Do
Silver Moon Company curates home and garden pieces inspired by Brazilian craftsmanship and climate — planters that look as good empty as they do overflowing, textiles woven with the kind of pattern you only get from generations of practice, and garden tools and decor designed for people who see their outdoor space as an extension of who they are, not just a chore list.
We work directly with small ateliers and family workshops whenever we can, because a story like ours only means something if it protects the people still living it.
Why "Silver Moon"
Because good things grow quietly, at their own pace, under the right kind of light. Because a garden — like a home, like a business — is never really finished. And because somewhere in Brazil, there's still a little corner that glows silver at night, and we like knowing it's the reason all of this exists.
Silver Moon Company — home and garden, grown from Brazilian roots.
